Finding the right HTVRONT heat press settings is harder than it should be. The numbers exist, but they are spread across product pages, tutorial posts, a sublimation chart and the manual that came in your box, and the ranges are not always identical from one page to the next. If you own one of these presses and just want to know what temperature to dial in for glitter vinyl or a sublimated tumbler, that hunt gets old fast.
This guide pulls those published settings into one place, machine by machine, and shows where HTVRONT’s own figures disagree with each other. That happens more often than you would expect, and the most specific instructions for your exact combination of transfer, blank and machine are the ones to trust.
My Quick Answer
HTVRONT publish settings per machine, not per material, so find your press first. On the Auto Heat Press 2 they list 145°C (293°F) for 15 seconds for several basic HTV types, 150°C (302°F) for 15 seconds for glitter and flock, 155°C (311°F) for 15 seconds for puff, and 200°C for 40 seconds for sublimation paper. The first generation Auto Heat Press uses broader ranges for some of the same materials, so go to the table for your exact model.
Drinkware on the A200 tumbler press runs far longer than most charts suggest, at 420 seconds for an 11 oz mug and 520 for a 15 oz. A removal method is published with each setting and matters as much as the temperature.

Which Number Should You Actually Use?
Settings come at you from several directions at once, and they will not always agree. When they conflict, work down this order and stop at the first one that applies to you.

That order matters more here than with most brands, because HTVRONT publish different numbers for different machines pressing the same material, and in two places their own sources disagree with each other. A general chart cannot tell you which one applies to the press on your desk.

Settings advice is close to useless without knowing which machine you are dialling in, because the lineup spans flat presses, drinkware presses and specialty units. HTVRONT currently lists these:

Before any batch, press one blank and inspect it. Every figure below is a published reference point, not a guarantee for your particular material, blank and room.
These HTVRONT heat press settings are the manufacturer’s own published parameters, grouped by press. All of them assume HTVRONT materials, and that qualifier matters more than it sounds. Siser, another major vinyl brand, publishes 150°C (305°F) for 10 to 15 seconds at medium pressure for EasyWeed, their everyday HTV. HTVRONT list 145°C (293°F) for 15 seconds in several machine tables for the equivalent category. The gap is only about 5°C, so this is not a dramatic difference, but it is enough that borrowing settings across brands is a habit worth dropping. Siser also note that Cricut EasyPress users should add roughly 30 degrees. Use the figures for the roll actually in your hand.

That is the Auto 2 machine setting, not a general recommendation, so do not carry the figure across to another press or to a third party transfer whose instructions specify something else.

Watch the ceramic line. HTVRONT publish 220°C for coated ceramic in the Auto 1 parameter guide, but the press itself is specified to reach only about 210°C (410°F). Because 220°C cannot be selected on that machine, this looks like an unresolved inconsistency in HTVRONT’s published guidance rather than something you are doing wrong. There is no way to tell from outside whether it is a typo, a figure for another machine or an outdated entry. Do not substitute maximum temperature plus extra time to compensate. Contact HTVRONT, or follow your ceramic blank supplier’s instructions for a compatible flat press process.
HTVRONT are unusually open about what the Auto 1 does not do well, and it is worth repeating because you will not find it on the product page. They note that its pressure is on the light side for DTF film, that it is not built for white toner transfers or screen printing, that 3D puff HTV may not come out properly, that the platen may not cover a design on a hoodie or an XL shirt, and that uneven ceramic surfaces can give uneven pressure.

The A200 has the most detailed reference of the whole lineup, broken down by the exact blank rather than by material. Every entry runs at the same temperature and only the time changes, which makes it unusually easy to work with once you know your blank size.

Temperatures above are reproduced as HTVRONT publish them. 200°C converts to 392°F exactly; HTVRONT round it to 390°F in their A200 material, which also matches that machine’s stated maximum.
A 15 oz mug is a touch under nine minutes at full temperature. That is far longer than most conventional mug press recipes, and it is the figure most likely to surprise someone coming from a dedicated mug press. These times belong to a specific setup: HTVRONT tie them to the mug heating module, the matching 11 oz or 15 oz mat, the stated pressure and one mug per cycle. Do not carry 420 or 520 seconds over to an unrelated mug press.
HTVRONT add two adjustments alongside this chart that almost nobody else publishes. For light coloured designs, take 10 to 20 seconds off. For dark or large area designs, add 50 to 70 seconds. Treat that as an A200 specific note from the manufacturer rather than a universal sublimation rule, and test one blank before committing a batch, because adding up to 70 seconds can overprocess some coatings.
Note also that the mat thickness changes with the blank, 4.0 mm for the narrower tumblers and 2.0 mm for the wider ones, and that mugs use a fixed pressure of 45 kg where tumblers sit in a 40 to 60 kg band.
One row looks counterintuitive at first glance: the 30 oz tumbler is listed slightly shorter than the smaller 15 and 20 oz at 180 to 210 seconds against 190 to 220. Capacity on its own does not set heating time, and those two rows use different diameters and different mat thicknesses. HTVRONT do not explain the difference, so keep each size paired with the mat shown rather than extrapolating by volume.
HTVRONT publish two different A200 datasets. The reference chart above comes from the machine’s own product page and runs everything at 200°C. Their separate parameter guide lists the same machine at 182 to 192°C for stainless tumblers with a press time of 110 to 150 seconds, which is roughly half the time the product page gives for the same blank.
Both are HTVRONT figures for one press, and they have not explained the conflict, so there is no way to reconcile them from outside. Where your project is explicitly covered by the chart above, use that procedure, because it is tied to a named blank size, a specific mat thickness, a stated pressure and the matching heat module. For a blank that is not listed, do not assume either dataset transfers automatically. Use the blank instructions or ask HTVRONT which applies. Do not blend the two into one range.
One thing this chart does settle: 200°C is exactly the A200’s published maximum. Every drinkware setting therefore runs at the top of the user selectable range, so there is no upward setpoint headroom. That does not mean the heater has no power in reserve, it means you cannot compensate by choosing a higher temperature. If a blank supplier asks for more than 200°C, the A200 cannot follow that setting as written. Use it only if the blank supplier or HTVRONT provide an approved A200 compatible procedure.
A300 Auto Hat Press

Metallic HTV is the outlier across the lineup. It presses cooler and shorter than everything else at 140°C for 10 seconds, so using the hotter settings listed for the other specialty films may overprocess it.
HTVRONT group DTF film with the specialty vinyls in this table. That is their published figure for the A300, not a general rule for DTF: films and powders vary between suppliers and normally come with their own press and removal instructions.
HTVRONT Heat Press Settings Include a Removal Method
The HTV, transfer paper and sublimation paper rows in HTVRONT’s parameter guide include a removal instruction alongside the temperature and time. Using the wrong removal timing can damage an otherwise successful transfer or cause the design to lift. It is worth stressing that this is product and process specific rather than a rule you can memorise by material.
In HTVRONT’s current model guide, many of their basic, glitter, flock and metallic HTV entries are listed as cold peel, and puff HTV is generally listed as hot peel. The same guide contains exceptions, though. The Auto 1 lists basic HTV as warm or cold, one Auto 2 dual use entry recommends a hot peel, and sublimation paper is listed for hot removal on some machines and cold removal on others. Siser, for comparison, states that EasyWeed can be peeled hot or cold.
So use the removal method in the exact row for your machine and your transfer product. Cold peel means letting the item cool completely before lifting the carrier. Hot peel means taking it off straight away while the item is still hot. With sublimation the term is really paper removal rather than peeling, and the priority there is keeping the paper from shifting while the image is still hot. If your design lifts away with the carrier, or the edges look torn, check the removal timing for that specific row before touching the temperature.
General Substrate Settings from HTVRONT’s Sublimation Chart
This is not a settings table for the four machines above. Its dual unit ranges are reproduced from HTVRONT and some endpoints are rounded rather than exact conversions. HTVRONT also publish a broad sublimation chart covering more than 35 substrates, and it is reproduced here only to show why figures found elsewhere on their site differ from the machine tables. Whenever your model appears above, those rows take priority. Do not press from the chart below if a machine specific row exists for what you are making.

The polyester range of 255 to 410°F is too broad to use as a practical default. It appears to gather together different polyester products, constructions and transfer methods rather than describe one standard setting. Do not simply start at the midpoint, which lands near 333°F and can be well below what many conventional polyester sublimation projects need. Where HTVRONT gives a figure for your machine, use that instead: the Auto presses list 200°C (392°F) for 40 seconds on sublimation paper.
On the polyester and cotton blend line, only the polyester portion permanently retains conventional sublimation dye. Disperse dyes are formulated for synthetic fibres, which is why the cotton content behaves differently. The cotton portion does not hold it with the same permanence, so the finished print normally looks lighter or more heathered than the same design on 100% polyester. That can be useful when you want a deliberately softer or vintage style result, but it should not be mistaken for the colour intensity of a full polyester garment. When a result is close but not right, HTVRONT’s own advice is to adjust in small steps rather than jumping: roughly 5°C either way, or two seconds on the time, then test again on a scrap. Their guide states plainly that the published parameters are a reference and that materials, environment and individual machines shift the outcome.
Every HTVRONT Press Has a Different Temperature Ceiling
Dual unit ranges in this section are reproduced from HTVRONT. Some Fahrenheit and Celsius endpoints are rounded and are not exact mathematical conversions.
This is the part no single HTVRONT page puts side by side. The maximum temperature appears in the specification table of each individual product, so unless you open several product pages you would never notice how much they differ.

The A200 cannot be set to 400°F because its published maximum is 390°F. If a general chart lists a tumbler at 400°F, use the A200 specific procedure or the instructions supplied with the tumbler rather than copying the upper end of that chart. Do not automatically extend the press time to compensate, because time and temperature are not interchangeable and a longer press can bring its own problems with edges, colour and coatings.
What the H1 Mini can and cannot do
The H1 Mini tops out at 356°F, which is enough for some small sublimation projects when the blank or transfer instructions specifically allow that temperature. Many common sublimation blanks call for higher settings, though, and the small platen with three fixed heat levels limits how precisely you can work. Treat it as primarily a vinyl and detail press with limited sublimation capability, rather than as a general purpose sublimation machine.
Why the H17 sits so much lower
The H17 uses a different, manufacturer designed process rather than a conventional flat press. It combines vacuum forming with chamber heat transfer and sublimation film, and its published operating range tops out at 320°F. Because HTVRONT does not state that the general 350 to 400°F phone case range applies to the H17, use the machine’s own instructions and its compatible case system rather than transferring settings across from a flat press. The vacuum improves how the film sits against the curve of the case, which is not the same thing as replacing temperature.

These two look almost identical and the naming does not help. The differences that matter for pressing are pressure control, clearance and heat up time.

The adjustable pressure is the practical difference. On the first generation you work around fixed pressure by changing what you stack underneath. On the second you set it directly, which helps when you move between thin performance tees and thick hoodies in one session. The 4.5 cm clearance follows the same logic.
Choose the first generation when fixed pressure and standard flat garments cover what you make. Consider the second when adjustable pressure, greater clearance or a wider range of project thicknesses matters to you. If DTF is part of that decision, note that DTF films vary between suppliers, so the transfer manufacturer’s instructions still set the parameters.

Before You Press: Preheat and Pre Press
Let the press complete its normal preheat cycle before you load a project. On the first press of a session a short extra stabilising period can help if the platen has not heated evenly, but a fixed additional three to five minutes is not required for every model, and the auto machines have their own ready indicator. If your first transfer is consistently weaker than the ones that follow, check the actual platen temperature and how evenly it heats rather than simply adding idle time.
Pre press a garment briefly when the garment and transfer instructions allow it, commonly for a few seconds, to remove wrinkles and surface moisture. Moisture can interfere with some transfers. Be aware that a design lifting after washing can equally come from incorrect time, temperature or pressure, from the peel method, from fabric treatments and softeners, or from washing too soon.
Safety. These presses and the finished blanks can cause severe burns. Use the press on a stable, heat resistant surface with clear space around the vents, keep children and pets away, and wear heat resistant gloves when handling drinkware and metal blanks. Follow the electrical requirements in the manual and avoid unsuitable extension leads or overloaded power strips. Unplug the machine before cleaning it, changing a removable module or investigating a fault. Only heat materials approved for heat pressing, and provide whatever ventilation the transfer manufacturer specifies.
Supplies Worth Having:

HTVRONT Heat Press Error Codes and Beeping
An E code means the machine has detected a condition that needs attention. It does not identify one universal fault across the HTVRONT lineup, and it can point to a sensor, heating, communication or electronics issue rather than something you can reset away.
Check the code in the manual for your exact model. Where that model’s instructions specifically describe a removable heat plate module and recommend reseating it for that code, switch the machine off and unplug it, let it cool as instructed, then refit the module so it locks fully into place. If the code returns, stop using the press and contact HTVRONT support with your model and the code.
The numbering is not the same across the lineup. The auto presses use E1 to E6. The H10 lists E01 to E04 instead. So if you are searching for what E2 means and your screen shows E02, you may be reading advice written for a different machine. HTVRONT assigns the codes per model in the manual, which is why you will not find a single universal code table anywhere, including here.
On visible smoke, be careful with the word normal. Some manufacturer FAQs mention light vapour or odour during certain transfers, but persistent smoke, a burning smell, discolouration or an electrical odour is not something to press on through. Stop the cycle, unplug the press if it is safe to do so, ventilate the area, and check the material and the model instructions before continuing.
The Press Heats But Nothing Transfers
This is worth separating from the error codes, because the machine looks like it is working. The display climbs, the cycle runs, and the item comes out blank or barely marked.
Start with the transfer system rather than the machine. Sublimation needs sublimation ink together with a polyester or sublimation coated surface, so untreated cotton and blanks without a compatible polymer coating will not produce a permanent conventional sublimation transfer, whatever settings you use. Heat transfer vinyl has to go adhesive side against the garment with the carrier on top, and the liner has to stay on until the instructions say otherwise.
Once the material and substrate genuinely match, check orientation, then time and temperature against the instructions for that specific transfer. Confirm that the press is closing and applying pressure rather than resting shut, since an auto press that is not building force will still heat and still count down. On the Auto Heat Press 2 you can check the selected pressure against what the transfer manufacturer recommends, and on the H10 the live pressure reading gives you a value you can compare and reproduce, though the transfer manufacturer still decides whether that value is appropriate. Bear in mind that some thin or delicate transfers deliberately call for lower pressure, so a low setting is not automatically wrong.
If all of that checks out, test the actual platen temperature and how evenly it heats before assuming that more warm up time is the answer.

Cold peel or hot peel on an HTVRONT press?

HTVRONT’s A200 chart lists 420 seconds for an 11 oz mug and 520 seconds for a 15 oz at its published 200°C setting. Those unusually long cycles apply only to the matching A200 mug module, mat, pressure and mug size, so do not carry them over to a different mug press.
Do I need a cover sheet on every press?
Follow the transfer manufacturer’s instructions rather than a blanket rule. Many vinyl products call for parchment, multipurpose paper or a heat transfer cover sheet, but the correct covering and peel method vary by product. For sublimation, use clean protective paper above and below the project and replace it once ink has transferred onto it.
Why is my glitter HTV lifting at the edges?
